Amerimar Realty Company is an experienced leader in the acquisition, development and management of real estate investment properties throughout the United States. Its success is rooted in almost 40 years of experience and an established approach to maximizing long-term value of opportunistic principal investments in diversified asset classes.
The company began in 1976 as David G. Marshall & Co, the real estate investment arm of Bass Brothers Enterprises of Texas, which David G. Marshall acquired and renamed Amerimar Realty Company in 1987.
By thoroughly understanding the markets and properties they target, Amerimar Realty is able to identify opportunities to yield superior returns—properties in out of favor locations or those that need intensive repositioning and hands-on management. David G. Marshall has been a leader in real estate investment, development and management for almost 40 years. Since 1976 when he began to acquire properties on behalf of Bass Brothers Enterprises of Texas, David’s sound investing and real estate acumen have resulted in the acquisition and management of several billion dollars in real estate assets.
David was a Senior Vice President at Colonial Mortgage Service Company prior to his tenure as Managing General Partner of David G. Marshall & Co. (1976–1980). In 1981, with David as President, David G. Marshall & Co evolved into Bass Brothers Realty Company, which then became Ameribass Realty Company in 1985. In 1987, David acquired Ameribass, renaming the company Amerimar Realty Company—under which he continues to spearhead opportunistic investing across diversified asset classes nationwide. In additional to his leadership of Amerimar Realty Company, David also started and served as Chairman and founding CEO of Amerimar Enterprises, Inc. from 1992 to 2000.
His significant professional accomplishments are furthered by David’s involvement in his local community, and his dedication to cancer research, prevention and treatment. To that end, David was Chairman of the Board of Fox Chase Cancer Center, now part of Temple University Health System, where he also serves on the executive committee and the finance committee.
In addition to his work with Fox Chase, David is the director of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Fund and is a member of its executive committee. He is also chairman of the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation and director for the Center City District. Furthermore, David was vice chair of the Federation Allied Jewish Appeal, vice-chairman of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and director of the Curtis Institute of Music, SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management, Friends of Rittenhouse Square, and the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
David is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he chaired the research committee and served on the executive committee of the Real Estate Center. Formerly, he was a director of the Wharton School’s undergraduate executive board.
His awards include the United States Army Commendation Medal, the Eagle Scout Award, and the 2007 Citizen of the Year award from the PENJERDEL Council and the Wharton Club’s Man of the Year award.

Director
James W. Loveman has been an integral part of Amerimar Realty Company since 2011. Responsible for sourcing, financing and managing new acquisitions throughout northeast Ohio, James’ primary responsibilities include the development of a unique destination hotel in downtown Akron and the redevelopment of the former Firestone Tire world headquarters, a 1.3 million square foot property on South Main Street in Akron.
James first joined the Amerimar family of companies in 1997 as an analyst with Amerimar Enterprises, Inc. His responsibilities quickly expanded to include the asset management of several office properties across the country. From 1997 through 2007, James worked closely with Amerimar’s institutional investment equity partners, including Angelo, Gordon & Co. and Lubert-Adler Partners, LP to manage a diverse portfolio of properties valued at more than 1.1 billion dollars.
In addition to his many years of experience with Amerimar, from 2007 to 2008 James was a Vice President at Harvest Equities, Inc., a Philadelphia-based investment firm specializing in multi-family assets in Texas and Florida. In 2009, James launched Asset Dynamics LLC, a consultancy specializing in quantitative analytics for large real estate equity investment funds that has grown to include the development of Web-based software and analytic tools for the commercial real estate investment industry.
James graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 with concentrations in finance and accounting.

Stephen D. Marshall began his career with the Amerimar family of companies in the mid-1990s, joining Amerimar Realty Company in 2006. As a key member of the Amerimar Realty team, Stephen has partnered on many real estate ventures with an emphasis on the redevelopment of underutilized properties and is currently focused on supporting the company’s efforts in northeast Ohio. His responsibilities also include the management of a number of Amerimar Realty’s existing assets.
Notably, Stephen recently played a key role in the renovations of the Parc Rittenhouse, a large-scale, luxury condominium conversion on Rittenhouse Square, the most desirable neighborhood in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining Amerimar Realty, Stephen worked at Amerimar Enterprises, Inc. and as part of the management team for The Jefferson Building (Philadelphia, PA). In addition to his work, Stephen is an active member of the Philadelphia community, lending his time and support to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Philadelphia Orchestra. Stephen also served as Secretary of the Board for the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.
Stephen graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in economics. During his tenure at Penn, Stephen was captain of the sailing team and subsequently participated as a finalist in the 1996 Olympic Trials for the US Sailing Team.
